Circa 1960s | glass
In the 1920s Riihimäki Glassworks started to pay more attention to the design side of glass production. Which can be seen in Nanny Still's gorgeous pair of clear vintage Pompadour vases, designed at the Riihimäen Lasi glassworks in the 1960's. Award-winning Nanny Still was only Riihimäen Lasi’s second woman designer, later becoming one of the leading designers for Finland’s largest glassworks. Still studied at Finland's Central School of Arts and Crafts and graduated in 1950, mainly designing decorative glass bottles, vases, goblets, and jars, with beautiful colors and elegant shapes. Her glass pieces have become true collectors items.
