An "Archais" white bisque ceramic vase by Heinrich Fuchs for Hutschenreuther in a cylindrical shape with OP Art designs. Heinrich Fuchs is particularly noted for his OP Art designs; from 1965-1970. Fuchs created a totally new aesthetic in porcelain for the prestigious
Hutschenreuther manufactory. He is also well known for his Calabash and Archais series, which consisted of 15 different vases, each featuring a natural or geometric repeating surface, as well as bark and seashell textural surfaces, all glazed in matte or a clear gloss on white
ground. This vase’s design has unique curves that look as though they are vibrating and warping. The alternating curved ridges lead to captivating irregular shadow play over the vase’s surface.
