Circa 1970s | Enamel, copper, wood
A range of Brutalist craft pieces were created in Mallorca, Spain in the 1970s, including plates, clocks, and decorative boxes. An excellent example: this vintage, handmade Brutalist trinket box, features a copper lid covered with an assemblage of abstract, slightly raised shapes in multicolored enamel. Glistening in bold shades of orange, blue, green, and gold, the rounded enamels suggest melted marbles under water, or even swirling astronomical nebulae.
