Cutting-edge, Omaha-based artist Christopher Prinz seeks to “expose extreme and rarely visible possibilities of materials and processes associated with manufacturing and construction.” He often begins by sculpting with an unusual material: aluminum foil. Its simplicity and malleability allow him to conceptualize and achieve a form by hand, at an easily workable size. Realizing his vision for this side table at full scale, Prinz then took a large industrial press, plus various unique dies and jigs that he'd developed and sheet metal was bent, crushed, and wrinkled into his desired final form — in stunning mirror-polished stainless steel.
